Um, nothing helpful, I'm afraid. First advice is to not get two puppies at once....... See? How unhelpful is that?
WAIT - I do have something helpful:
http://www.dogstardaily.com/
click on Training Textbook in the center & read it all. Can't go wrong with Ian Dunbar's advice.
Ian did a TED talk which obliquely disses the tv trainer phenomenon & 'dominance'. http://www.ted.com/talks/ian_dunbar_on_dog_friendly_dog_training.html
Jenn, The advantage to two is that I don't constantly have to play with them to keep them busy. We'll have to see if brave becomes another name for stupid down the road :) I am however, seeing the difference between our first (now dead) dog who was born into a 'family' situation (Mom was AKC Springer Spaniel. Dad was one of two labs that managed to jump the fence!) and ones from a shelter, no matter how good the shelter.
