This quote has been floating around my head today:
"With my mother's death all settled happiness . . . disappeared from my life. There was to be much fun, many pleasures, many stabs of joy; but no more of the old security. It was sea and islands now; the great continent had sunk like Atlantis." CS Lewis

That sums it up perfectly... I can only pretend to know how it feels. And while I don't have the right words to say, I am praying for all of you and I am here.
XOXO
That's a remarkable quote. At least you know you're not alone in feeling how you do...
Myself, I'm walking around puzzled that all the houses in the neighborhood continue to stand and the azaleas continue to bloom, regardless. It seems wrong, somehow.
To you on the island, I'm sending hugs and prayers for comfort from my peninsula.
